Tim Pinch
Tim started out building mic cabinets at California Recording. A few weeks later he was working at world-famous Wally Heider Recording in Hollywood, working on commercial radio productions and learning to edit.
Two years later he quit and built his own 24-track remote recording truck, and was off to the races. Striking up a few key relationships, Tim quickly built up a solid reputation as a reliable alternative to the high-price audio trucks of the day, yet delivered the same quality of audio for events such as the American Music Awards, People’s Choice Awards, Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Superbowl Halftime Show, and much more. You don’t get those gigs unless you deliver every time.
Along the way there were tons of syndicated radio and live broadcasts for the BBC Rock Hour, King Biscuit Flower Hour, Westwood One, etc. Tim recorded/mixed everything from Merle Haggard to Tina Turner, The Jacksons, Iron Maiden, Leonard Bernstein, Oingo Boingo, The Police, Alice Cooper, Tom Jones, and everything in-between. Tim was fortunate to work with the very best in the business, and this broad experience at the very highest levels is what shapes the presentations here on Musician’s Tech.
In this business there are regular guys, and there are out-of-control egos. They all produce great music. So our approach is – lose the ego, and just concentrate on being a friend and getting the job done with no compromise. The learning never stops…
