The motivation behind Musician’s Tech is the desire to ‘De-Mystify’ the processes and concepts behind making music.
Not everybody has the ability to use expensive microphones and exotic mic preamps on a grand piano to learn how they sound, so we have set out to give you as many experiences as possible. Then you can make an informed decision!
We try to give you as many opportunities as possible to look behind the scenes in recording studios and at live concerts. Experience different brands of guitar speakers, or different clip-on mics on a tenor sax. Listen to different microphones, different mic preamps, and what combinations might work best for you.

Musician’s Tech is dedicated to inform you as much as possible about all of the different equipment, software, and processes and procedures that are used in the course of making music. We don’t endorse any brand, and we don’t rate any equipment. Our goal is to be as transparent as possible, and give you exposure to everything involved in recording music and performing live.
Sometimes the equipment makes almost no difference in the sound – other times it makes all the difference in the world. Musician’s Tech is where you can see and hear for yourself. Magazines have written articles for years telling you what something sounds like. We actually let you listen to what it sounds like first-hand. Most magazines and websites print a few images of the front and the back of a piece of gear and then they tell you about it. We let you watch from every angle and atually listen to the equipment as we demonstrate every possible option on each piece of equipment or software plugin. It is a very different experience!
Enjoy the experience.
