The MXL 990 is a great large-capsule condenser mic. They are great for acoustic piano, vocals, and anywhere you’d normally use a large-capsule condenser mic. This particular mic is a very basic mic as it doesn’t come with any pads or roll-off options or pattern control. That’s why it’s so affordable.
